SUSTAINABLE MONOPRINT WORKSHOP – NOV 2023

1 X WORKSHOP: SUSTAINABLE MONOPRINTING ON RECYCLED PACKAGING PAPER

Introductory session of monoprinting using sustainable eco materials.

This was a short snappy session held at the Carnoustie/Monifieth careers fair on behalf of UHI Perth. Deirdre Bennett ran this session using sustainable printing materials such as discarded paper offcuts, last pages in old sketchbooks and beautiful brown packaging filler paper that is common in parcels on the run-up to Christmas. The inks used were Cranfield safe wash which are more environmentally friendly and much easier to clean up after with eco washing-up liquid and warm water. These workshops were designed to demonstrate how general household waste materials can be used to create beautiful artworks easily whilst minimising the cost to the environment and to the student’s pockets. Encouraging students to consider a more sustainable practice is future proofing their careers. All participants were invited to take their artworks home after the session.
